We’ve confirmed the dates of our season. Our permit will run from the beginning of May until the end of September.

There will be no games on long weekends.

That leaves 17 games for the season … PZ is working hard banging out a schedule, but we think it’s going to be something like this:

2 nights of spring training the first two weeks of May (come out and hit some balls)

Season will be 9 nights of League games (the ones that count) and 3 nights of Exhibition games (the fun ones).

One pre-determined “rain day” to reschedule any League games that were rained out during the season.

2 nights of finals.

Gonna be a great summer of softball!

What:

A recreational coed 4-team softball club.

We value friendly competition over dickheaded jockery.

Where:

The Hot Sundae Arena is located at Dovercourt Park

This is a central field, well-equipped with bleachers, washrooms, and awe-inspiring lights.

When:

Fridays, Early Game at 7:00, Late Game at 8:30 — come early, stay late!

Our permit runs from the beginning of May until the end of September.

We are working on a schedule with a combination of competitive and exhibition games.

$:

Team dues are being calculated, but will be very affordable — current calculations are less than one half of one half summer of softball through the tcssc.

We would like to purchase some equipment for the league, and have some kitty left over for important things like trophies and barbecues.

Part of the club’s mandate is to support sports programs for kids, so we will be rolling a contribution into the cost as well.

Rules and Stuff:

Still working on it, but this a self-pitched, self-refereed, friendly league.

Rules err on the side of including all players (no sliding, safety base at home, etc)

HSSC will provide bases and balls, but all teams will share responsibility for this equipment.

Teams may need to provide their own bats.
